District Governor Alan Cohn, 2017-2018
District 6990 ~ Southeast Florida, the Keys & Grand Bahama Island
Alan is an attorney at the law firm of Greenspoon Marder, P.A., practicing primarily at the Fort Lauderdale office. He received his Bachelor’s in Accounting, his Juris Doctor and Master’s of Law in Taxation degrees at the University of Florida. He is board certified in Wills, Trusts, and Estates, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar, as well as various Bar committees.
Alan is married to Lauren, a clinical psychologist in private practice in Plantation, FL. They have three children. Rachel is an elementary school teacher in Broward County. Emily is married to Lenny Gallardo, and is an actress in New York City. Darren is pursuing his Master’s degree in Film at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Alan and Lauren have been living in Plantation since 1996.
Before becoming District Governor of Rotary District 6990, Alan had a great deal of experience in the not-for-profit world. Alan has served as the Board Chair or President of Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El, Goodman Jewish Family Service of Broward County, and the Rose and Jack Orloff Central Agency for Jewish Education. He has also been involved as a professional advisor for the Broward Community Foundation, Nova Southeastern University and has been a board member of the American Friends of Israel Elwyn, the University of Florida Hillel, the Jewish National Fund and the American Friends of Hebrew University.
Alan is now devoting his full attention to Rotary so that District 6990 continues to be a flagship district in Rotary International.
