In mid 2003, Debbie was instrumental in forming the Rotary Club of Weston Sunset, where she served as the Charter Secretary.  She also served the Club as its Family of Rotary Chair, Foundation Chair, and President.  She was named the Club’s Rotarian of the Year for 2003/2004 and 2005/2006.

 

Debbie joined the Rotary Club of Weston in 2008.  She has functioned in a number of roles including Webmaster and served as the Club’s Rotary Education Chair.

 

She has been active on the District level as well, having chaired two District 6990 Conferences and served as the Family of Rotary Chair, Chief of Staff, Continuity & Governance Chair, and RLI Faculty Chair.  Debbie twice held the position of District Secretary and has served on the District Matching Grants/District Simplified Grants Committee as well as being an Assistant Governor for two years.

 

She is a certified instructor at the Rotary Leadership Institute where she served as the Registrar for the RLI Sunshine Division for several years and has attended eight Rotary International Conventions.  Debbie is a Rotary Foundation Major Donor, a Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member, a Rotary Foundation Benefactor, a Member of the Rotary Foundation Bequest Society, and a member of the Paul Harris Society.

 

Debbie has been with TNG Merchandising LLC, a division of The Jim Pattison Companies for the past 35 years and is currently the company’s Director of Retail Operations.  Debbie attended Florida Atlantic University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a major in management.  She is also C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) qualified.

 

Debbie was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to the South Florida area in 1956.  Her hobbies include reading and cruising.  She is married to Douglas R. Maymon (Past District Governor of District 6990).  Doug is also a strong supporter of the Foundation.  Debbie and Doug have one son, Brad, who is a developer for a civilian defense contractor and married to Misty Lee, plus one grandson, Tyler.  They also have two cats – Maverick, the impish one, and Charlie (Lady Charlotte), the quiet one.  Debbie and Doug are avid football fans and in their fleeting spare time enjoy fine wine, classic rock music, and old movies.
