Poland has come up with a punishment for Belarus in case of failure of EU sanctions — we can talk about national sanctions. This is reported by Polska Agencja Prasowa with reference to Polish foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.

“If it does not come to sanctions aimed at certain officials of the Belarusian state, then the countries of our region are considering — I’m talking about Belarus’ neighbors that are members of the European Union — the introduction of national sanctions,” Rau said. At the same time, he hoped that Brussels would still agree on sanctions from the Alliance.

Earlier it was reported that the foreign Ministers of the EU countries could not agree on a list of personal sanctions against Belarus. This was due to the position of Cyprus, which intends to achieve the simultaneous introduction of restrictive measures against Turkey in connection with its plans for natural gas production in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is known that after the failure of negotiations at the level of diplomats, the issue will be discussed by the leaders of States.
