Marking the Passing of PDG Jack Rosen




Jack Rosen, age 94, of Coconut Creek, FL, formerly of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Landrum, SC. Beloved husband of the late Edythe Rosen. Devoted father of Howard Rosen and his wife Janet of Teaneck, NJ, Honey Kleinberg and her husband Irving of Fair Lawn, NJ and Fred Rosen and his wife PJ of Columbus, NC. Proud grandfather of Marc Rosen, Meryl Recinos and her husband Ivis, Michael Morgenstern and his wife Shelley, Erika Proctor and her husband Kevin, Matt McLain and his wife Mercedes and Chelsea Rosen. Great-grandfather of Isabella, Jack, Finn, Zoey, Oliver, Emma, Sean, Kira and Ellie. Dear brother of Pauline Klotz and her husband Shelly and Mary Winter.

Jack was a past president of Fair Lawn All Sports Association and was instrumental in establishing the Farm League. He ran a Sunday baseball clinic open to every boy in town. He continued his service to the community through the Fair Lawn Rotary Club, and then helped form the Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary Club. He later became District Governor for Rotary International. After working for the Federal Government for 20 years he switched careers and established Ro-Z Tours where he coordinated group travel. At 76, he drew from his heritage (his father was a baker) and opened the Bagel Shoppe, first in North Arlington then in Hackensack. In 2005 he moved to Coconut Creek, Florida, where he continued his service with the Pompano Beach Lighthouse Rotary Club and became its treasurer. He was a board member and treasurer of the Wyndmore Condo Association. He will be greatly missed and always remembered with a smile.

Services will be 11 AM Friday, January 29, 2016, at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 West), Fair Lawn, NJ. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
