Dear club Presidents, club Foundation Chairs, and AAGs for Foundation,
There is a FREE District Training Opportunity coming up that you won’t want to miss on Saturday morning, July 26th.
FOUNDATION SEMINAR 2014
First United Methodist Church
400 Biscayne Blvd.
Miami, FL 33132
Start Time: 9 AM
This will be a highly interactive seminar with short presentations on the various aspects of The Rotary Foundation. Want to learn about funding initiatives, giving opportunities, fundraising goals, donor recognition? How does the SHARE system work? What’s the difference between being a Benefactor and a Bequest Society member? How are my contributions to The Rotary Foundation used? Can I choose how they are spent? What’s so important about Annual Programs Fund giving? Where do Endowment Fund contributions go? What are District Designated Funds and how are they used? Who serves on the D6990 Foundation committee and subcommittees, and how can I reach them for support?
If these are questions you’ve wanted to ask, NOW is your chance. Come, join D6990 Foundation Committee Chair Robin Shelley and members of his team on July 26 to have all your questions answered. The more you know, the more effective your clubs will be at raising and utilizing Foundation funds to do good in the world!
I encourage you to log on to the DaCdb and go to the District Calendar, where you can register TODAY for this FREE event, so the Seminar planners can have a reliable headcount ahead of time. Invite club leaders or any club members who want a better understanding of The Rotary Foundation to attend with you. There is free parking off NE 5th Street alongside the Methodist Church, but it is limited, so please consider carpooling where possible. See you there!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Pat Short Hornsby
Rotary Club of Weston
District Trainer 2014-15
P.S. This Seminar is not the same as the Grants Seminar that will be held later in this Rotary Year, for which attendance is required for clubs to qualify for Grant funds for Rotary Year 2015-16. Come to the July 26 Foundation Seminar and be completely ready to plan for your club’s next local and international grant-funded projects when the Grants Seminar rolls around!
