RC Coral Gables Rotarian Tom Dixon Leads the Effort to Send $150K in Donated School Books to GBI via Rotary Lucaya

Tom Dixon of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables finally made it happen!
After years of working to transport excess Miami-Dade textbooks warehoused in county facilities to deserving pupils in the Caribbean, Tom, with the help of fellow Gables Rotarians Yoli Woodbridge and Noelle Galperin, was finally able to get over $150,000 in donated school books shipped and delivered to children in Grand Bahama Island who will use them to learn and grow. Tom Dixon and Yoli Woodbridge visited selected the textbooks and transported them to the shipping dock in Miami. Rotary Club of Lucaya President Billy Jane Ferguson, Foundation Chair Christine Van Der Linde, and Rotarian Ed Pavey coordinated the shipment and distribution of the books in Grand Bahama Island. This is an outstanding District 6990 effort amongst clubs to lead the way in making a difference in our very own District!  Congratulations to all for your successful efforts!

  1. Rotary Club of Coral Gables. The love you have shown our children is immeasurable. They are hungry to learn and read. You have made that possible.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
